چکیده
Abstract Maintenance of pastures for grazing accounts $132.50/animal in the United States (23% operating costs), and pasture nutrient input represents single greatest influence productivity per unit area. Cultivar differences forage offered to cattle have potential manifest digestive efficiency, resulting different excretion profiles. The objective this study was assess growth incorporation N, P, K into material from manure fed one four bermudagrass (Cynodon dactylon [L.] Pers.) cultivars. Ruminally fistulated heifers (n = 4) were assigned randomly cultivars (Coastal, Russell, Tifton 44, or 85) 30-d vivo periods (21-d adaptation 9-d collection). On d 23, total fecal collections subsampled each heifer. As a hierarchical addition, controlled greenhouse experiment conducted period [15 pots period; 5 treatments (four diets plus negative control) × 3 replications]. Manure added 4.58 L based on stocking rate estimates Central Alabama (1,110 kg/ha). seeded with (cv. Giant) as an indicator uptake. At harvest (d 70), herbage, root, soil samples collected. Herbage root assayed CP. Soil pH, K, Mg, Ca. Data analyzed using SAS v. 9.4. There no effect treatment herbage (P 0.88) DM yield =.00;.54 and.73 g/pot, respectively). Similarly, there pH 0.18; 5.5), P 0.78; 24.2 kg/ha), 0.42;56.7 Results are interpreted mean that, regardless cultivar effects ruminal dynamics, is little subsequent production

Manure and Nutrient Partitioning, Accretion, and Excretion in Holstein Heifers
Considerable changes have occurred in environmental regulations in recent years, only one of which is the requirement of stand alone heifer operations and feedlots to carry environmental permits. While growth of heifers is a widely researched topic, publications concerning nutrient utilization, partitioning, and excretion are scarce and are becoming necessary. That combined with the fact that f...
متن کاملNutrient excretion and odorant production in manure from cattle fed corn wet distillers grains with solubles.
Twenty-four cross bred steers (BW 452.5 +/- 15.5 kg) were used to evaluate nutrient excretion and odorous compounds in urine and feces of feedlot steers fed diets containing corn wet distillers grains with solubles (WDGS). Cattle were weighed, blocked by BW, and assigned randomly to 1 of 4 dry-rolled corn-based diets containing 0, 20, 40, or 60% WDGS (DM basis). A 96-h total fecal and urine col...
متن کاملOdor Evaluation and Gas Emission from Manure of Dairy Heifers Fed High/Low - Forage Quality and High/Low-Concentrate Diets
A heifer feeding trial evaluated the impact of high/low forage quality and high/low concentrate level nutrient-balanced diets on simultaneous odor and gas emissions from the manure. Gas concentration was determined using an infrared photoacoustic analyzer over a 24-hour period using a steady-state flux chamber setup containing urine:feces as-excreted from eight individual heifers. Odorous air s...
متن کاملNutrient Cycling, Modelling and Management from Field to Catchment Scale
The changes in land use caused by antropogenic interventions, has increased the global pool of nutrients (Nitrogen and Phosphorus) in terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems. This report analyzes the behavior of the main nutrient biogeochemical cycles and the consequences of its alterations. It is remarkable the enhancement of some inputs and outputs to terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems and the inc...
متن کاملSensitivity of Triploid Hybrid Bermudagrass Cultivars and Common Bermudagrass to Postemergence Herbicides
The potential weediness of hybrid bermudagrass cultivars in nontarget areas is an important factor when considering the development of herbicide-resistant cultivars. Field studies evaluated the response of common bermudagrass, hexaploid hybrid ‘Tifton-10’, and two triploid hybrid bermudagrass cultivars (‘TifEagle’ and ‘TifSport’) to clethodim, fluazifop-p, glufosinate, glyphosate, and quizalofo...
